Looking for new 9mm. Recommendations?

Hello, I am in the market for a new 9mm. I would like something full size with at least a 4.5" barrel. I plan to use it just for target shooting. My current love is a Tristar (Canik) C100. It has been a great shooter for me, but I guess I have a wandering eye. I am also handicapped, as I can not possess a firearm with a magazine greater than 15 rounds. I am using a budgetary figure of about $600.00. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you in advance for your input.

Beretta 92/M9. It fits all your criteria. I was going to suggest an HK P30L, but that is far above your price range. I was also going to suggest an FN FNSL....but the magazine holds 17. (you can get 10 rounders)

It doesnt quite have a 4.5 inch barrel, but check out an HK VP9 as well. Close to the $600 mark and a wonderful shooter.

A Glock 19 Gen 4 would cost you $600 or less. Only a 4" barrel but nice to shoot, fits your hand well and you can easily change to a lighter target 3.5 lb. trigger if you want. The Beretta 92 has a larger grip and that is why I sold mine. I could not put my trigger finger flat on the trigger while in DA mode. Do not have that problem with any of my other guns.

A Kahr P9 is under $400 but the slide is hard to rack. Full grip and good gun otherwise. Also take a look at the M&P 9mm. Just as good as any other at a better price. The triggers on the new guns are better than the old but I am not a fan of striker fired guns. All but my one Glock 30s, have hammers.

if you already love the Tri-Star(which is also my fav), a cz 75 is just about the exact same thing, but a bit more refined and has a decocker. but if I was buying a new 9mm right now that's full sized, it would be the Grand Power P1 mk7, its a bad arse gun, has a unique barrel locking system and have heard the trigger is amazing. 15rd mag as well and will save you a few bucks from 600$. there is a very detailed review here on the foru, I am hoping this will be my next pistol

There are a lot of choices that would work in that role. 4.5" barrel might be tough, 4" opens up a lot more. If looking for a pure target gun, I'd probably look at a 9mm 1911 like the Range Officer or similar. A P226 in one of the more target-oriented flavors could serve nicely as well.

Walther PPQ 5" would be an outstanding choice too. Really a lot of good guns out there.

Take a look at the FNS-9. Its got a 17rnd magazine, but there is a 10nd option. I've had a very good experience with mine, got about 350 rounds through it now and it functions flawlessly and its accurate (more than me).

Price is right in your range and it has a 4" barrel. Aftermarket stuff is a bit scarce, but maybe that'll change.

Its worth a look!

Springfield XD 9. After probably 4000 + rounds never a hiccup. XD 9 Service or XD 9 Tactical. Either is a winner. 4in. or 5in. whatever you prefer.

Does anyone have any thoughts about a Baby Eagle? 4.5" barrel, 15 round mag. I would just feel cheated if I purchased a gun with a 10 round mag when I'm allowed a 15.

Yeah. You don't want to take anything less than you are "allowed" to have. Beagle is another CZ clone but it has a slide mounted safety. If you like your C-100 you should like a Jericho. Grip is a little slimmer if that would help or hurt in your situation.

I am not round limited so I am happily shooting my T-120. I would take a look at that Tisas if I needed to have a 15 rounder. Almost went that direction any way. Seems to be a very nice gun at a very nice price. http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/21_1225/products_id/411553425/TISAS+ZIGANA+M16+9MM+5%22+15%2B1+BLACK

And if your state ever frees itself, there are 18 round magazines available for the Tisas. http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/411553851
