Looking for info on Auto-Ordinance THOMPSON

My wife got a M1927A1 a few months ago, drum and all. GREAT FUN...just wish it had the other lever... 
Mine had failures to fire about one out of ten rounds for the first two hundred rounds or so (retract bolt a few inches to reset the trigger and try again), but has calmed down now.
I complained about that and the fact that the firing pin strikes so hard sometimes that it dishes the primers right out of the pocket, and was told that the hard strikes are normal for a Tommy and predicted that the failures to fire would go away. They did, but my primers are still running scared.
Fun toy.
