Looking for info about old shotguns

My father has two single shot 12GA shotguns he received from his Grandfather's many years ago, and I am hoping someone has a little knowledge about them...

One is a H & R Topper Model 153 and the other is a White Powder Wonder

Thanks!

H&R stands for Harrington & Richardson. Their shotguns and pistols were inexpensive but serviceable guns. I think they made guns for Sears at one time. As far as the White Powder Wonder, I would be leery of any firearm whose maker was not willing to put their name on it. Sounds like it might be well to hang both over the mantle as a sentimental part of your family memorabilia. I doubt either has any substantial financial value.

Good shooting and be safe.

The White Powder Wonder was built by Albert Aubrey Co. Connecticut, and made for Sears & Roebuck.

One of the "other" big sellers as far as "cheap guns" go was the Hercules single barrel made for Montgomery Wards.

The H&R, WPW, and Herc were all "Hardware store" guns that worked well in the field.

Regards.
