Looking for ideas on.....

getting another CCW handgun. I really enjoy shooting my wife's Bersa 380 and like its controls (ie/ DA/SA, Hammer drop safety, mag release, magazine disconnect, light weight, etc.). Is there any other auto made that is similar to the Bersa but in a more powerful caliber? The Bersa is nice and my wife loves it but I would like to get something, for myself, a little more powerful...Thanks.....RW

Staying w/ similar controls....

My suggestion would be S&W 3914 (or 3913 if you like stainless). Both the 3914 and Bersa have slide mounted decocker/safeties and push button mag releases. But the S&W is 9mm. Or there are similiar .40 caliber models as well. If price is an issue, the S&W model 908 or 457 are bargains.

Sigs are good.

S&W is the only one I can think of with the magazine disconnect.

Carry versions of the CZ-75 are in both 9 mm & .40 S&W.

Beretta 9000S, 9 mm and .40 S&W also.

Browning Hi-Power. Medium sized handgun. Same controls. Single action, no decocker, has magazine disconnect. Frame mounted safety.

H&K USP Compacts. Available in 9 mm, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP. The .45 ACP is minutely larger than the 9 mm frame. It is wider at the slide than a Commander. Frame mounted safety/decocker.

Commander sized 1911. Available in .40 S&W as well as the venerable 9 mm and .45 ACP. Single action, frame mounted safety, and grip safety. A classic design it is probably the most slim option, especially with thin grips.
