Looking for gun case foam rubber

I have a slightly used leather Franklin day planner zipper case that would hold my S&W 642 .38 snub nicely, and am looking for suggestions on getting some of the black foam rubber that they use in gun cases. I have looked everywhere without luck.

I did get a piece several years ago from a tech guy who got it in a computer shipment. I used that piece the same way, only for a Walther P22. The computer guys around here say they never see the stuff.

I'm out of ideas - anyone have any?

Make sure you buy a foam that is impervious to gun oils and solvents, and that it won't trap moisture and promote corrosion. also that won't melt onto the gun

Closed cell polyethylene for instance. Cheap is great but there's a lot of plastics out there
