Anybody out there own a 1911 with hogue:kingwood, goncalo alves or olivewood grips and have pics they wana show? Thanks

Ugh

My Colt Defender has rubber wrap around grips - I think they are Hogue.

My BHP clone had the same.

The problem is the grips make the gun fat and make it harder to get a proper grip on the gun when drawing.

I have been meaning to replace them forever - since I cant CCW, I have not done it yet.

I would recomend some carbon fiber grips - durable and not suceptable to moisture and the elements, etc

Although not of a kind you mention

Here's my Hogue, smooth, finger groove tulipwoods:

Fitz C-45 grip

My Fitz C-45 grip has sold thousands since the 1920's to parents and grandparents that were shooters It is in the center of the page of the attachment of 11 grip pics. Even though My Fitz business went in to storage when I was seriously injured in 1979 Fitz grips have outsold all the aftermarket grip makers put together. We were also the aftermarket grips of choice after WW 2 when we came out with a Duramite (Nylon-Plastic) unbreakable line of grips. I thought I sold out of the C-45 in the 70's but one of my kids found a overlooked box of Rosewood color Duramite ones in the barn and I am selling them $36 postpaid this month at 1979 prices while they last. I have walnut and Cherry wood grips left in other pistol styles.

If you prefer completely checked as opposed to the double diamond stuff, Brownells has some cool black micarta ones and some Ebony wood ones. They were the only black fully checked ones I could find and I like them both.

Carbon Fiber. Stronger than wood and it doesn't look bad.
