Looking for CCI Blazer amo?!

Try the sportsman guide. Their last semi-annual issue had it listed. Don't know if they got any more in or if they have any in stock from last time but it's worth a look. I believe that they have a web site also but I'm not sure of the exact address. Try www.sportsmanguide.com or www.thesportsman.com or something like that. You can also try doing a search for them in www.altavista.com.

A few years ago I had the carrier break in a Marlin 1894 (.44 mag.) because of the bullet moving forward in the casing on a CCI blazer! I like 'em but be cautious what you use them in.

Snakeman,

Just recently, I purchased TWO cases of CCI Blazer .40 S&W 165 gr TMJ for a total of $349.00 ($330 for the ammo + $19 for the shipping) from www.tsssinc.com

That makes it $6.98 per box of 50 -- the cheapest price anywhere unless you work in one of those places, of course. You have to buy two cases though. Since I try to practice a lot, it's fine with me!

The only possible problem with their shipping price is that it may, of course, vary based on your location. Call them first to find that out.

They don't advertise 165 gr on their web site, so call and ask for Khris Wright should you decide to buy it. They do, however, have 180 gr Blazers (also in .40 S&W) advertised there, and its cost ($150 for a case + $8.50 for shipping) is the cheapest I could find as well. It's less than what both ammobank.com and ammoman.com sell this ammo for -- despite their offer of free shipping.

BTW, 165 gr rounds in .40 (at least in Blazers and Speers) kick substantially more than 180 gr, and since my carry ammo is either 135 gr or 165 gr HydroShocks, practicing with 165 gr TMJs makes perfect sense to me.

Hope that helps,

Emin

Snakeman,

I'm not sure where you live, but a friend of mine in the Dallas/Fort Worth area has been catching sales at the Academy chain for 9mm Blazer ammo at $4.95 (before tax) per box. He waits until a sales and buys a case.
