Looking for ammo boxes for a .22lr

Most people just toss those nice CCI ammo boxes with the little plastic trays that hold the rounds apart. Go to the local range and scout around or ask them to save them for you. IF it is an outdoor range, they might be floating around there somewhere. But no one sells them commercially as empty cases, I don't think. Since no one reloads them, there is no demand!

Some of the aftermarket cases are really heavy duty and they are all the same.

Just makes it easier to handle.

That said,I havent seen anything like that for 22 LR.

Doesnt mean it does'nt exist.

Alot of times, the steel ammo cans are used for 22 LR but if you are into accuracy shooting this could ding up those bullets.

As others have said, you might want to but the CCI ammo for a while and just stick up on those cases.

CCI ammo is high quality as well so it's a win-win for you.

I re-use the CCI cases as well. It's really nice once you've had a bulk pack of federals or whatever kicking around a bit longer than expected and the box is falling apart. They don't seem to travel well once you've cracked them open.

Also, it's an easy way to figure out how many rounds I've shot a given session.

I recycle the plastic jars that drink mix comes in. They'll hold a LOT of .22lr. Not bad for .45acp, .38sp, or 9mm either. I just dump cartridges into the top for easy pick up for loading mags, cylinders, etc.

Big Crown Royal bags fit nicely in my range bag. Great for loading up ammo in and also to bring home any brass if you want.
