Looking for a thin WIB holster

I'm looking for a thin IWB holster for a Sig P229. Due to my thin build, it's hard to carry a WIB on my hip and it feels uncomfortable at 4-6 o'clock so the only other place to carry is at 12 o'clock, right up front. Therefore, I need to find a relatively thin, preferrably clip-on, WIB holster. Thanks.

Check out FIST

I use a kydex FIST K1 with belt loop inside/outside adaptors, which I don't think would work. Take a look at the 1K clip holster, K3, K4. You might want a K7 with J hook and adjust it for a cross draw just left of center also. Kydex doesn't look as nice as leather, but it also doesn't soak up salty sweat and rust your weapon either. It's also very thin. FIST has a huge weapons list, and they make every holster for every weapon on the list.

Another thought

I almost never carry IWB, wearing my FIST K1 on the outside whenever possible. I have it adjusted as a high ride and it barely extends below the bottom of my belt. I can wear a sweater, short jacket, or pull over sweatshirt without any worry of exposing my XD9 subcompact. It holds my XD very close to the body. Just a thought, as you have to wear some kind of cover jacket or shirt using IWB or OWB anyway.

IMHO, many new shooters buy a beautiful carry rig for iwb carry, & then feel like they`re carrying a bag of marbles in their belt .I`ve done it also, i`ve got a box full of holsters that I don`t use. Desantis holsters makes an IWB rig that`s simple (a keyword). It`s called the covert agent ,I believe. Basically it`s a shaped piece of leather with an adjustable velcro at the bottom to fit the muzzle,at the top is a loop to go around belt (get a GOOD belt).simple -semi Mexican style carry. You can even tuck your shirt in. Price about $20.00. The actual fact also is that you are carrying quite a big gun. Bigger is better I know , one can carry a .50 Smith & Wesson & really have a good defense weapon! But you probably won`t carry it due to it`s size & weight . I`m exaggerating , however if you don`t carry ,it you might as well give the crackhead your money . I`ve got a Kahr PM9, & A Smith Model 337 PD, both expensive guns. I`m not trying to be a wise guy but I carry these all the time . Whats wrong with a Kel Tec .380? Reasonably priced ,they work ,are light & accurate & you`ll carry it .:D

Take a look at the Watch Six by Milt Sparks. It is extremely thin, partly because it doesn't have a metal reinforcement around the mouth of the holster.

The more i stare at photos of the Sig P229, the more I think it looks too big to conceal properly. I guess I'm going to have to break down and go with something thinner. I liked the look of the Kahr but mag capacity turns me away (I know, single-stack, thinner gun :)). I wanted something with atleast 12 rounds and .40. I'll keep looking then.

XD is a brick

Subcompact XD is a compact brick...but not compact enough for me. Just like a Glock, I can carry it in the winter but that's it.

Kahr PM9 or PM40...about the size of a J-frame S&W. Yes, mag capacity may be an issue, but reloads are much quicker than a revo. Kahr is so small/thin/light/easy to carry, and a spare mag is likewise small/thin/light. 12-14 rounds of 9 or 40 in a tiny, easy to conceal, easy to carry package. Worth a look.

Although my Kahr PM9 is pocket sized, my Para C-6 single stack Officer's size is not. For that application, a Milt Sparks Watch Six is a pretty thin, very nicely made alternative. I have one on order for my Glock 23.

Check out that Kahr, though...almost negates the holster discussion altogether. I use the same $10 DeSantis Nemesis for the Kahr and the J-frame.
