Looking for a left-handed AR... Stag?

I'm in the market for a left-handed AR and given that there are not many choices that I'm aware of, could I get some opinions on Stag? I've personally never shot one or known anyone that has one. Opinions on better alternatives welcome also. Thanks in advance.

I'm a southpaw shooter. My AR is a S&W M&P 15 PC right handed. I can't tell the difference.

Right handed guns are easier to find and to sell.

I agree, however, I'm tired of conforming. Never had any issues with a standard mind you. I have a 6920 and a Bushy, sold the M&P, and am finally commited to a lefty. I wish I hadn't sold the M&P, I don't think I'll sell anymore, I used the funds for a HK P2000 and hated it.

My buddy has a left-handed Stag that I've shot. It's a great rifle. Perfect functionality even with consecutive rapid shots and accuracy is as good as you would expect from an AR. He was shooting for some accuracy with kinda fast followup shots. I was just out having fun with it, I can't say I personally tried to be real accurate with it.

Based on my experiences with his rifle, I would have no problem recommending Stag.

I'm liking that 2TL alot actually.... any word on their piston driven system? I think I read somewhere how Stag was the company that led the way in resolving the carrier tilt issue with the piston system. Is that an accurate statement?

Base model Colt carbine and extra ammo. No real need for a left handed version as it's easy to adapt to one. Or you could get an AK. I think larry vickers had a clip on how to shoot left handed since he's a lefty and does not get left handed guns.

The original poster wants a dedicated left hand rifle.

i shot right handed rifles for decades . In the mid 60s i traded for a Mathieu left hand rifle. Now all of my go to bolt action guns and ARs are left hand. My right handed guns sit in the back of the gun safes gathering dust.

Thnx guys. I'm an experienced rifleman and have zero issues with right handed firearms, simply want a lefty AR to add to my collection and to experience the joys of a rifle tailored to my strong side. Right handed people have never had to know what it's like, it's aggravating to say the least to have most everything in your everyday life made for righties with no consideration of the left.

I'm a lefty, and have two Stags, a 6L and an 8L, which is the piston version. Both are great, never failed in any way. Also, the 8L has a dedicated left-hand safety, meaning it is not ambidextrous, which I really like, because the safety lever always bugs me on the left side of the ARs. You can also get a left-hand only safety from Stag and retrofit them on any AR.

I've owned my stag 4L for several years. I'm very happy with it and I customized it quite a bit, jard single stage trigger, yankee hill 4 rail free float handguard, etc. I'm getting sub-minute grouping with it but do get more flyers then I do with my bolt guns.

If you shoot left handed I recommend you buy left handed. Left handed guns vent gas and shrapnel away from your face when they fail and firearms do fail catastrophically sometimes. Ergonomics are superior with correct handing and re-sale if you care about that (I don't) is excellent.
