Looking for a laminated stock for VZ-24 / 98 Mauser,

inletted with no barrel channel, or a custom size barrel channel...

my buddy is building a rifle, & it has a very light weight octagon barrel, & he is looking for a stock for his project... Ideally if he could get an unfinished brown laminate stock, with the rifle action inletting done, but no barrel channel cut, I'd pick it up for him...

I tried Boyde's... but they aren't doing anything like that ( even though their website kind of eludes that they do... maybe they are just too busy ??? )... any other ideas, that wouldn't cost an arm & a leg ??

Thanks for the link... but, Richards was our 1st choice... they have gotten worse than they used to be at getting anything from...

I actually had 3 phone calls into them, that rang & rang, with no answer or machine, & finally got the machine, left a message, & they never returned my call...

I guess they have all the business they need... I thought I'd look for something else, before revisiting them... I have gotten many stocks from them in the past, & all have been good... maybe they are the only option, & I'll have to try calling them back again :(

Surely there's somebody else out there that has or makes what you need- but I just don't know where else to look.

I did take a peek over at Hoosier Gun Works- they usually have a few stocks on hand- but I didn't see anything in laminate for a mauser.
 
thanks again... I was also on their site earlier today...

this is for my retired builder buddy, for one he's making for himself... he has bad reactions from working with walnut, so if he could find one finished, that would be fine... but he'd prefer laminate if he has to machine the barrel channel...
