Looking for a good 9mm?

Was looking at getting a 9mm. Whats a decent one that I could also find hi-caps easily for?

thanks Cyric13

Look at the Ruger P-95. Plenty of high caps available.

Also, the CZ-75B -- my preference. Again: plenty of High Caps.

Then there's a remanufactured Glock 17 -- around $400, generally with two hi-cap mags included.

You won't go wrong with any of these.

What price range?
IMO the CZ75B with Tritrium night sights for $349 can't be beat. Cheap ($40) standard capacity (15rnd) factory mags are easy to get.

I can't in good conscience recommend any Ruger.

Just lookong and comparing right now. I look at the CZ75B. What 9mm have 17 round mags?
Hey BB where at that price?

thanks Cyric13

The remanufactured Glock 17 come with 17 round mags (unless the seller has confiscated them for resale). The CZ has 15 rounders, the Ruger has 15 rounders. You can get 17 rounders for the Browning Hi-Power... There are still a lot of options.

Ruger P95. Great gun. Great price. You can find "standard capacity" magazines for anywhere from 30 to 60 bucks. I'm talking about the Ruger factory mags, which always perform flawlessly with the gun. As for after-market mags, it's hit and miss. (What the hell are hi-caps? Sounds like a term the anti-gun camp came up with. The gun was designed with 15 rounds in mind. Anything less than "standard" is a "restricted" mag.)

Keep adding info. Would also like a single action and the ability to carry cocked and locked if possible. My only other gun is a 1911 and I'm used to it so not trying to change much.

CZ 75b fits the bill

My choices,
Glock 19.
Beretta 92 centurion/ 92G Elite.
I'm also looking at purchasing a CZ-75BD(decock only version).
Hi-caps are available for all of them, & ea. holds 15rds, G17 (17rd) mags also work in the G19.
Just posted a topic looking for a good online source for Beretta & CZ hi-caps.
Good luck w/ your decision,
{long shot}

Glock 19 would be a good choice. Not SA, but a good trigger. Always goes bang when you pull the trigger.

The best: P7M13. Very expensive, very large grip, good trigger, great safety, always goes bang, very accurate. P7M8 better for carry.

Well, if you're used to your 1911, then look into getting a Hi Power. There are lots of hi caps available.

Sig P226 9mm. Reliable, accurate and durable. 15 round magazines are readily available. The only downside is that they aren't cheap, but they are worth it.

I'm quite fond of the Beretta 92 series guns, in particular my 92G Elite but a standard 92FS could serve you quite well. Hi Caps for the Beretta 92 guns are amoung the most reasonable. Bought my last 5 for $29 each shipped. Easy to find in the 30-40 dollar range.

What I bought--FEG PJK 9HP, clone of Browning Hi-Power. Great clone of a great design. Prices run $199-$250. 17 round South African clips widely available for high $20 range. Other 13 round BHP clips will fit, too. Great feel, reliability, accuracy.

Ruger P-95: My brother had one. Excellent gun.

CZ 75: Because everyone says so. Just about bought one myself.

Sig 226: I bought this one instead of the CZ. Best decision I ever made concerning a handgun. Sig factory mags are available, but they are getting expensive. I prefer the preban Mecgar mags over the Sig factory mags. I know the Mecgars are available in 15 round and 17 round capacity at about half the cost of a Sig factory mag.

Here's another vote for the world famous,
Sig-Sauer P226 9m/m. Mine is two-tone and
equipped with SigLite night sight's.

Of the ones I've tried/owned (Sig-Glock-Berreta) I would go with the CZ75B hands down. Reliable, decent out of the box trigger that gets better as rounds go downrange, built well and an extremely affordable price. If it fits your hand I would go with it over the others.
