Looking for a 788 Stock

Hi there. Merry Christmas everyone!

I'm trying to find a new stock for a Remington 788 short action. I'd go for something like a Ramline synthetic if they were still made and sold at a good price... or a nice wood stock with a decent cheek rest... Anyone know where I can find a decent deal? $120 for a used synthetic or basic birch stock one would not be worth it for me.

Yeah that one is ok, but I'd sooner just refinish the stock.
I find the 788's to be quite nice and worthy of something a little nicer than the stock...stock. [emoji16]

$129.00 from Boyd's. They're doing some decent looking stuff in assorted styles. Most of' em are laminates.
There are a couple walnut options from Gunparts and a swarm of 'em from Bob's Gun Shop(www.gun-parts.com). Most in the same price bracket as Boyd's. Some unfinished as well.

Those are nice too. They seem a bit more suited for varmint/target use. But I guess having a thumbhole stock would be fine for deer hunting too.
