I always seem to come home from the gunstore with something other than what I intended to buy. On Saturday I went looking for another Browning to add to my collection, but a polished blue CZ 75 caught my eye. Practical considerations aside, I've always disliked the business-like polymer finish of the "military" versions. But the glossy blue (more black than blue, but anyway) version is delicious. As this will be a range gun and will never see the inside of a holster, I forked over the plastic with reckless abandon. It's not as well finished as my '73 Belgian Browning, but then again few handguns are these days. I love the HP, but the more I handle the new CZ the more I'm beginning to admit to myself that the CZ actually fits my hand a little better and points just a little more naturally. In shooting, it also snaps back on target a little faster. Mechanically, it's also fitted tighter than my Browning. Not that it appears to make any difference, though- I'm still a little more accurate with the HP, but that may change as my familiarity with the CZ grows.
Anyway, just thought I'd let you know about my newest acquisition. I'm thrilled that $400 can still by a handsome, accurate and reliable full-sized auto. Anyone else have one of these polished blue numbers?
