look what followed me home from the gun store

Went to the local gun store last friday (trail boss outfitters in SV) to pick up some more 45acp self defense rounds and on my way out I saw that they had a couple 20ga Mossberg silver reserves sitting on the rack along with another O/U that from a distance didn't pique my interest. after walking over to the 3 O/U 's I quickly realized that the one O/U sitting on the bottom rack was not some Stoeger or C/Z turkish made gun.... It was a Browning Citori Trap model.... The gun was on consignment... Guy behind the counter said it had been there a couple months... I said lets call up the owner and see if he would do less than the sticker price... sure enough, the owner reluctantly said yes...

This gun is a 1978 trap model with 32 inch barrels and choked at F/IM ... other than a few tiny dings from sitting in a safe full of guns this thing is in perfect shape. Judging by the wear (or rather lack there of) on the contact points on the gun and also the very minimal markings on the face of the receiver I would say this gun has not seen even a case of shells in the 33 years it has been around.

So, there goes my M1A money and I now own another Citori (other one is a grade IV in 28ga)

i actually won the 28ga about 4 or 5 years ago in a local raffle/fundraiser and it is a good shooter for clays and i take it out sparingly for some quail or dove hunting (note that it is a grade IV), but most of the time it spends its time in its own fitted hard case and gets taken out monthly to polish and wipe down.... the gun is just too expensive to take out.. one time i did take it out a buddy knocked it over and a $700 repair bill from browning later (buddy paid for it) for the scratches in the stock to get fixed and my buddy refuses to go near any of my guns no matter how cheap they are..

since this shotgun is in great shape, but just a "normal" model
( still has the hand cut checkering and hand engraved receiver) with a few dings I will not hesitate to take it to the range or in the field.

>Great gun for Bunker, ATA doubles, even Sporting and FITASC
Amen,
Now you're going to have to get one of those oversized shell bags. :)

Let's see, a new Remington 870 Wingmaster Classic Trap has a MSRP of $1,039 and it won't do doubles.
Congratulations, I think you did exceptionally well on this deal.

YOU PAID $800 fer that? BOY, Did you ever git took!!!
Heck, It only holds 2 rounds and it ain't even got a rail on it for a laser... and how you ever gonna put a pig sticker on the end?
:D

Nice gun!
