I would like to know what is the normal service life of the Kahr K40 and MK40? How many rounds have you fired through your guns? Thanks.

The all steel Kahrs are very well made. They should last for thousands and thousands of rounds. I only have 256 rounds through my MK40, but it still looks new. I expect it to outlast me.

Kahr firearms are incredibly robust. I doubt anyone here or perhaps even at Kahr headquarters can give you a number, an estimate would be asking a lot as well.

Just don't worry about it falling apart on you, they're impressively well-engineered.

I just inquired Kahr yesterday about shooting +P in my P9 Covert and he indicated that they do not recommend a "steady diet" of that as the recoil spring would have to replaced after about 1500 rounds as opposed to 2500 rounds. Extra recoil springs are $7 a piece.

Other than that, with proper maintenance, I can't see why it wouldn't last well beyond 20000 rounds ... especially SS.

Later.
