Longest sight radius on a handgun 9mm or larger

What semi or revolver has the longest sight radius you are aware of that is 9 mm or larger?
Thanks.

Without getting into specialty pistols or Desert Eagles, you're probably looking at something like a Glock 34... which has a 6in barrel with commensurate slide length. There are a number of 6in 1911s you can get as well... STIs in particular.

Cheers,

It would most certainly be a revolver because very long barrels are much more common on revolvers than semi-autos. S&W currently makes their X-Frames with barrels up to and including 14" while Ruger's longest barrel revolver is the Super Blackhawk with a 10 1/2" barrel.

how about the orignal? An Artillery Luger.:D

That's on heck of a wrist rocket!

Is it that long and unwieldy due to some sort of farcical firearms regulation? I'd venture a guess that it's to hinder any chance of concealment.

Contenders are 10 or 14in most times.

Ruger makes .44's with a 10in barrel.

I think Freedom Arms will make a revolver long for you if you order it.

In the UK, short-arms are mostly illegal, but long arms are not. They are not obliged to have a shoulder stock, however and so it is possible to own a pistol or revolver platform in that configuration.

On the bright side, they can't be much recoil!!

5"-5.5" barrels are typically the longest standard length barrels on most production semi-autos, excluding a few specific models.

Revolvers used for hunting will have barrels that are 8"-12" on average but there are alot with even longer barrels.

Probably a Wildey, in the semi-auto department, and a Dan Wesson in the wheelgun department. Simply because both sell rediculously long barrels to interchange with sane ones.

S&w model 29 44 mag 8 3/4" barrel?

That never existed. That length is a pre war length (or perhaps a rare custom order length post WWII) for the 357 Registered Magnum. Post war, such as the model 29, it would be 8 3/8.

There was a 29-3 silhouette model with a 10 5/8 in barrel.

You could get a Bomar rib for a 1911 that had the front sight mounted on a cantilever so it stuck out in front of the slide about 4", giving you about 11" sight radius. But there were many revolvers with longer sight radiuses becasue they have long abrrels in front of a long frame.
