Long Term Storage of Hi-Cap Magazines

I have a question to pose regarding long-term storage of hi-capacity magazines.

First a quick background, After the hi-cap law went into action, I started to collect hi-cap magazines for all of my current rifles and pistols, and any future ones I intending upon buying. My procedure was to buy them, run at least 100 rnds through each (to make sure they worked while I could still do something under warantee) and then put them away for storage. I actually only use one or two hi-cap mags for each weapon, and let the rest (usually 10 to 20 additional specimens per weapon) sit in storage.

My current procedure is shoot 100 rnds to check function, then clean each mag in hoppes #9. I then "hose" them down in a large plastic trash can with spray CLP and add them to the pile. Finally, I seal the container back up (not airtight) and store them in a cool (air-conditioned) spot.

Now the question, I have a large plastic trash can that is now getting full of hi-cap magazines, What is the best way to store them for the future, say 10 or 20 years or so?

In more detail;
1) Should I switch to a metal container for storage?
2) Should I disassemble the magazines?
3) Are the plastic parts (followers) ok with CLP?
4) Should I be using CLP at all?
5) How are you all preparing hi-cap mags to give to your kids in the future?

Thanks for your help.
