Digging through my safe today, in an attempt to organize it, and I found an unopened spam can of the surplus 180gr Mosin/Nagant ammo. Has that amber paint stripe on it. I think it's 300 rounds. Is that stuff still available? I only see (and shoot) the 147gr surplus ammo these days. Can't remember exactly when I picked this stuff up. Scratching my head...

Picture?
Most spam cans are 440 rounds (880 per crate).
The heavy ball (I believe most is 182 grain) hasn't been seen much of late.

Pretty sure it's a 300 rnd can.

The same we opened c-ration cans back in the old days.

They all came packed with a can opener in the crate, most people kept one on them.

If I remember correctly, they open easily, the steel ring winds a "band" around it to break the seal.

Some of them you could pull the ring by hand to break the solder seal and open the top.
