long action .22 calibers

So im looking for ideals for a long action .22. I have a long action remington 700 action and my dad has a 222 barrel already threaded to fit. Longest .22 ive found is a the 220 swift, dont want to waste a long action on a short little round. So what are options for a long action center-fire .22.

22-06?

Frankly you would probably be better off getting a different barrel.

Maybe horse trade your 222 barrel for the brand spanking new factory Rem 700 30-06 barrel taking up space in my garage......:D

I am currently building a 22-6mm for a customer (:) 90 gr at 3500 fps ).
Or if you feel the need for speed and don't mind stepping up in caliber, you can try a 6mm-06 (115 gr at 3600 fps :D).

Depends if you want a factory round, a popular wild cat or a completely new wild cat.
You will have to make sure what ever you build is compatible with the barrel twist.

Or you could just make a 300Rum-222 with discarding sabot to a .17 bullet.
Thats what Id do

well i have a couple of .308 barrels too but im already building a 6.5-06 on a mauser so a long range varmit gun would fit in the line up just fine and the .22 barrel is a nice long heavy one that i could turn to how i want it.
