got a call from my retired machist buddy the other day... told me to keep an eye out for his guns...
this guy is extremely tallented, retired tool & die guy, that's been working on guns since he was 13... before he retired, he was the go to guy if you wanted your guns fixed right... he's built many guns from scratch ( most of those he's given to his kids the last couple years, & the reason for this post...
his daughter & her husband have 1/3 of his good stuff, his son about 1/3 & he has a few still... this last weekend, his daughter & her family went camping for the weekend, & came home to find 10-12 guns & 10-12 ammo cans of ammo stolen, they took their car & truck keys, but left the big screen TV, & computer & stereo stuff alone... they had some gun lockers, & they left those guns alone, only took those that weren't in a safe
one of the guns ( may have been the theives demise ) was a custom made 6 shot single action 45-70 revolver, completely done & very professional looking, with his birth date as a serial... the 9mm's would be harder to track, but the hand cannon is not the kind of gun theives would use... I hope this is what gets them busted
if anyone hears of a 45-70 revolver for sale in northern IA or southern MN, please let me know... I'm looking to buy one
