Load question for my new shotgun.

I purchased a stoeger 3500 the other day, and I'm going skeet shooting next week. Now the gun recommneds 3 de 1 1/8 loads for break in, before I new that I biought 1 oz 3.5 de 1350 fps #8 loads. My question is should my oz loads be enought to break it in? as they are producing 1350 fps.

They should, but in either case, those are pretty stout target loads. Many hard core target shooters shooting trap, skeet, 5 stand or sporting clays are shooting 7/8 or 1 oz loads running about 1200 fps. Light loads produce less recoil and gun wear and slow loads tend to produce better patterns

thanks

Thanks I will keep that in mind for the future. It's pretty slim picking on ammo these days, the shelves on most stores are bare.
