As posted, looking for some load data for the 75 grain Scirocco 2 bullet in .223 using RE 15 powder. Hoping to get magazine length as this will be used in the field, not for bench shooting. Was going to middle ground it and try somewhere in the 23.5 to 24 range of powder, but I wanted thoughts first. Thanks...

Contact Alliant powder and they'll give you the data if they have any. They do have data for the 75 grain A-Max on their web site but noting using RL15. You can also try contacting Swift Bullet company.

You do not need bullet specific data. Any 75 grain jacketed data will do nicely. Doesn't matter who made it or its construction.
The 77 grain RL15 data on Alliant's site will do as well. Two grains won't matter.
Start is 21.7. Max load is 24.1. OAL is 2.260".

Not exactly true, though you might be able to get away with it if you are cognizant of pressure indicators. Bullet shape and construction can change you pressure. Data for one bullet that might be totally safe to shoot in your rifle, may not be safe to use with a different bullet with.

An example is my .338-06 I shoot a 200 grain Hornady SP bullet with a half grain off max charge of RL15 for 2880 fps, I can't get anywhere close to that speed with a 200 grain Nosler Accubond without getting serious pressure signs. I can't even come close to that charge with the 200 grain Hornady SST and they don't separate the data from the 200 grain SP. So don't for once believe that all bullets of the same weight will react the same way in your rifle.

Thanks guys. I feel pretty safe between 22 and 24 grains, so I'll start there. I've been shooting 77 grain match kings seated to mag length with RE15 and getting decent results in the form of 1.2" groups. For a 16" 1/7 barrel, I have no complaints. I'm switching up because I need to stay heavy, I need to be accurate, and I need the rounds to stay intact when they hit target, not fragment like thinly jacketed match bullets do. These swift rounds look like the ticket, and should provide me the accuracy to engage targets at 500 meters while maintaining energy and structural integrity. I have a feeling my rifle will like the lighter load, as it doesn't seem to like hot loads with the sierras. I'll find out this week sometime. Thanks gents.

Swift actually gave me a phone call. I was shocked, and wanted to point out the great customer service.

Anyhow, with RE15 there is a very narrow range because of the bullet structure according to the manufacturer.

Max- 21.8 grains at 2652 fps
Min- 20.2 grains at 2444 fps

I wanted to post this up for safety reasons. I'm going to start at 21 grains and see how it groups. Not thrilled about the muzzle velocity, but that will have to work. Should be fine for soft targets out to 400-500 meters. Thanks again guys.

LOAD DATA

I have been loading Sierra 77 grain MatchKIngs over 24.0 grains of RL-15 for years. Winchester factory primed brass.
They shoot marvelously well.
Virtually all of my shooting is done from prone position with a jacket and sling. Iron sights.

The hard part at my age (70) is getting back up to vertical.
