Looking at buying a Llimma Max-1 45 L/F I would appreciate any commits about the quality of this gun, price is about $300 for a blued model is this about right.

I've never heard of a Llimma but I've seen and handled Llama pistols. Where are these so-called Llimmas made?

If you mean the Llamas, well, can you really trust a pistol named after a small camel-like creature that likes to relieve itself often and that has the nasty habit of spitting people it dislikes? Search the archives and you'll see that Llamas (the pistols) are nothing but pure unadulterated junk.

So many pistols, so little money.

locobass,

If it's a Llama, it truly is a waste of your money. I got a used LNIB 1991 Cmdr at my local gunshop for $350. A LOT more gun.

I owned a Llama .45 ACP. I traded it for a used Ruger stainless .22 New Model revolver. I got the best end of the bargain, by far.

Hi, guys,

IMHO, the Llamas are good looking, good feeling guns and seem reliable enough for light usage, but are soft, poorly fitted and very sloppy. Accuracy is poor. Trigger pulls from the factory are horrible (not just "lawyer" heavy, but creepy and inconsistent. There is a lot of hand filing on internal parts, indicating poor parts QC and the need for hand work (no, Virginia, hand fitting is not always good!). An accuracy job would cost far more than the gun is worth or could possibly be worth after the work.

FWIW, for anything but an infrequently used gun, I would pass.

Jim
