Llama Micromax: ouch.

Well, we have a Llama Micromax, aquired at a country auction from a guy named 'Doc Thomas'. .380 Auto, 7 round capacity. Very reminiscient of a 1911.
Well, anyhow, today I went out to fire it, as I had not really gotten a chance to.
The best I can say about it is that it is almost reliable. I fired 35 rounds, and there was only one failure to feed, and no other failures of any sort.
Of course, I managed to hit the pop cans I was shooting at (at a distance of less than 20 feet) only twice. Not twice per can, either. Twice total.
It has a bit of 'hammer bite' that left me bleeding, and the slide is the stiffest I have every pulled.
I emptied a mag in about three seconds, and, amazingly enough, my shots managed to stay inside of a four foot diameter around the can.
Otherwise, it shoots completely randomly, usually varying between 3 and 4 inches in any direction, though I saw as much as 6. At less than 20 feet.
It doesn't handle recoil all that well; it leaves one's palm sore, and snaps up quite rapidly.
THe muzzel flash is enormous, comparable to what one might see in a video game. The casings land pretty randomly around the gun.

My conclusion: an awesome home-defense weapon, as long as you don't have to fire it.

Well it sure does sound like you got a tack driver...throw a box of tacks on the ground and shoot at the center one...

Bummer, they actually look and feel like they could be an alright gun....its better than my Accupuke :barf: at least yours shoots.

But the benefit of pulling out the Accutek in the presence of an
experienced BG...he runs because he doesnt want to get hit
by pieces of the gun as it breaks apart......:D

Shoot well

You guys don't understand how some of those guns work in a defense situation. You pull the gun. The bad guy takes one look and falls to the floor laughing. Then you hit him with the gun and call the cops to come pick him up.

I've shot that gun a while ago, side-by-side with a Colt Govt.380. The Colt was more accurate (2.5-3" at 21 feet) than the Llama (4-5") and had a nicer trigger. However, the Llama seemed at least serviceable, if not as durable.
