Live Fire Course

I'm working on getting my wife through the Fla. and Utah CCw courses. I have her practicing every weekend on silhouettes at 21' with her weapon of choice, a PT22. The 380 and 9's are proving too much for her do to previous injuries.
What ranges are the course conducted at? My searching is getting nowhere.

The FL CCW requires an NRA First Steps style course which you should be able to find an Instructor by calling the NRA. Then you can do all the paperwork yourself (its very easy), go to CVS and get the photo taken and go to the police station to get fingerprinted.

The Utah permit requires a class with a Utah certified instructor. I believe there is a listing on Utah's website of approved instructors. Try calling a few in your area.

If you have no luck let me know and I will try to help as much as I can.

We've got all that info, and a course planned. I was wondering about the target range. She's disabled and learning to shoot left-handed. She's back to 21' and scoring decently CM, but I want to know from somebdy that took the Fla. course for instance, to tell me the range they shoot at.

Btw, she had all the prior training as an LEO 50 years back. That part will be a good refresher too.

IIRC there is no shooting requirement for FL or UT. I'll ask my friend in FL who recently got his to confirm FL. Almost 100% sure on none for UT, as I recall only needing to shoot for my home state when I did them both.

Friend from FL says that the "shooting" requirement was just a demonstration of safe handling. Load, fire, make safe(No scoring or requirement to hit anything). I imagine this part might vary a bit, as a number of classes meet the requirements for FL, but it seems there's no scored shooting.

Thanks. I just found the number and got off the phone with ProActive who pretty much confirmed that.
He's not in favor of the 22, but it'll hit more than the 380 she leaves at home all the time because it hurts her to shoot it. I continue to explain that if she needs it to shoot until empty! No pausing.:)
