OK here is the deal,My roomate is showing me the rifles and shotguns he recently inherited. Nice stuff too. Then he shows me this little 12 gauge break action. @#*>@!!! When I say "little" I mean the barrel is like 9 inches! This is the most sawed off shotgun I've ever seen.I told him that it was illegal as ANTHRAX,but he wants to keep it anyway. So I looked on the web for some full length barrels and they were 80 to 100 bucks. He said that was to much to spend on a free P-O-S shotgun. So we move to plan B. Is there a way to make an extension? Bare in mind I have access to a really nice shop with all kinds of tools and gizmos.Maybe this would be a chance to make something original or interesting.More importantly, keeping my braindead friend out of the slammer! BY THE WAY... It's a New England Pardner.Any tips, info ,links ,posts, ideas would be A BIG HELP! thanks guys!

Tell him to buy another barrel, or find another friend.

You do NOT want to be anywhere around this guy when the roof caves in.

Tell your friend his options are zero. He needs to remove the barrel, destroy it, deep six it after it's destruction and enjoy the smell of fresh air without Buford eyeballing his backside.

If your friend tries to keep this weapon, then do not get involved in any way other than trying to convince him to get rid of it.

He says the shotgun ain't worth it? He's right. It ain't worth it in sooooo many ways.......

Does the name "Randy Weaver" ring any bells?

All that was over a shotgun less than an inch too short.

Well I called my buddy over and let him take a look at the posts.I think that helped him see this is no joke. So we took a cutting torch and ended the debate then and there! I got the story on how this short shotty came to be.Back in the day paranoid taxi drivers carried an assortment of small arms. This was his recently departed Uncle's attempt to get in on the fad. This thing had been sitting in the attic since before I was even born. I guess gun laws were a little forgiving in 1970.Oh well, it was a good lesson in BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY! Also makes me think twice about taking a cab.
