There have been quite a few threads on new SA/DA revolvers in .22 LR lately,,,
So I decided to compile a list of the models that are currently being made.

Give this a quick look and let me know if there are any others to add,,,
A website address for any additions would be appreciated.

I'll update this original list if/when any more come in.

Thanks badge851,,,

I completely overlooked the 992 series,,,
Well, not overlooked, just didn't know of their existence.

They didn't show when I searched .22 LR in the taurus website.

Thanks again.

I think arminius/wierauch makes some 22lr models not sold in the US. The Rossi plinkster models disappeared from their website earlier this year.

Since we're on the topic, I have found that double action 22 revolvers are actually more demanding in their tolerances than a center fire gun. This is mostly because of the poor specs of a 22lr case. The firing pin placement requires different machining, the timing has to be tighter, the cylinder alignment is super important with no room for error, and the cylinder gap has to be tighter. They are just harder more expensive guns to make, so not as many manufacturers try. I'm guessing that's why Rossi dropped them.

Hello Radny97,,,

It's a shame that Rossi dropped them from their line,,,
I own one of the 4" Plinkers and it's a very nice performer.

I'm thinking it is more because of the Taurus buyout of Rossi.

Yes Taurus seems to be moving Rossi away from DA revolvers and more into western styled guns and single shots. I would not be surprised if we saw them jump into the single action revolver market.

Shame that Taurus made Rossi drop the R98 Plinker. I am (well, I guess was) looking for one right now. Looks like Taurus also discontinued the model 94 as well. Not on their website. No loss on the 94. Had one. Miserable trigger, and had to go back to the big "T" for major repair after 1100 rounds.

What are the chances that Ruger comes out with an LCRx in .22 LR with a 3" or longer barrel?

I hope they come out with the LCRx in 22LR (3"). I will buy one. There really aren't many 22 revolvers that I lust for these days, but that is one of them. I have many, so my "needs" are few and my "wants" are getting smaller.

Arron, I believe the current M63 S&W is a 8-shot or at least mine is. Of course you know this as I believe you own one.

With regard to Ruger coming out with a LCRx with 3" barrel and adjustable sights.....their CEO responded to an email request for this exact gun going on 2 years ago now, with the response "OK, we'll do it". We are still waiting. I can't really see it happening, as it would compete directly with their SP101-22lr.

Except I don't want an SP-101 or a GP-100 in 22LR. Never seen an SP that the trigger was even close to bearable and the GP's are okay (not great). The SP is a steel frame revolver, the LCR's not. I don't see any competition; only diversity of product offerings. In reality, I don't need one anyway. I just want one.

I've thought the same thing, Ruger doesn't want to decapitate the SP101, but the LCR's are just a better gun. The LCRx is easier to carry because it's lighter and it has a great trigger.

I'm not exactly lining up to buy a .22 SP, but I would be camping outside my LGS for a .22 LCRx.

Hello Obambulate,,,

Yeah, I can't edit the original post any more,,,
I'll copy and paste the corrected version here.
