List of "common" .22lr bulk packs.

I was planning a project both for myself and Youtube. I was going to take all common bulk packs and maybe a few of the more common match ammo and basically do the ultimate ammo test for a particular gun.

Besides the same old Remington, Winchester and federal, what are other common ammo that you would find, even outside of the us? Like I said, I want to see what works best for me as well. Obviously, I'll only buy a realistic amount and compare results, nothing insane, but still.

Anyways, if anyone can help me out, it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

CCI Blazer 525 pack

I agree with you Aaron1100us.

The CCI Blazer 525 pack is now $14.99 at Palmetto State Armory in Columbia, SC. SC sales tax is 7% if you go to Columbia and pick up a case or two. It is very accurate compared to some of the other bulk I have used and its clean. I called CCI and confirmed with them that this is the same stuff that you can buy 10 fifty round boxes brick. 40 grain lead.

CCI Standard Velocity. I wouldn't call it "bulk" necessarily but it is relatively cheap($25/500) and shoots extremely well in all of my .22s...only beat by ammo costing double or more.

Alright I'll play by brand; each brand will have one or more choices.

Aguila.....standard.
CCI...standard and match
Federal....standard and match
Remington...standard
Winchester...standard
SK Jagd / also packaged as Wolf....match grades of ammo.
Fiocchi...standard and match
Lapua...Match
Eley....Match
RWS...Match
PMC...standard

With the varieties in the various brands, you should be kept busy for a while.

P.S. From my experience, Aguila, Remington, Winchester, and PMC match grades are match grade in pricing only.

Federal Auto Match is the best bulk I've shot

I must also agree. This is the only bulk ammo i have found so far that shoots perfect everytime. CCI is great ammo, but i cant get it in bulk where i live cause nobody carries it. Only bad thing with the Federal Auto Match is it only comes in a 325 round box which i go through very quickly!

I didn't find the Federal Auto Match bulk any better than the rest, just more expensive.

The best, cheapest that I've run across is CCI Blazer.

GunX,

My 10/22 really likes the CCI Blazers! So I was glad to see someone already recommended them. When you do the accuracy testing remember to fire 25 to 30 rounds AND then shoot/test for groups.

Not sure what you mean by "ultimate". I own several 10/22s for example and some like different ammo better than others.

Eh, well yes, that's always an issue. It was going to be more for reference than anything I suppose. Ammo will be compared as well as far as quality, so of course each person's experience could be much different.

Very good point, though.

GunX,

Please post a pic to include one of all rounds your testing. Put them in order shortest to longest measure from rim to the upper part of the bullet that touchs the riflings.

One of my theories on 22LR rilfe accuracy involves is this particular length measure and how it "fits" the chamber cut.
