Lil gun?

I tried it a few times, but I am back to the H110/WW296/A2400 routine now.

I have seen some gas cutting using Lil'Gun. I have seen others with gas cutting.

The only thing I use it in now is 22 Hornet.

I stay with H110 for 44 Mag. The 357 also, but my best 158 load uses AA#9. I use Lil'Gun in 25-20 and 32-20. My old Savage 23D 22 Hornet can't seem to stomach the stuff, so I even stay with H110 for it. Works wonders in the 32-20.

Ive loaded lil gun and h110 in 357mag and definitely prefer h110. With lil gun ypu get the velocity but you pay for it in recoil, it is quite sharp with lil gun where with h110 its a little more push than snap. Aside from that no other real difference, well, maybe a tad more noise with lil gun. Hard to say with muffs and plugs.

I tried it in .44 mag ...But I liked H110 better...but I don't need to push them that fast so my go to powder in .44mag & .357 mag is Titegroup.

^^^Same here. Few years back Lil' Gun was touted as the new "Holy Grail" for magnum revolver cartridges. Very high velocities from very little pressures. Sounded great. I too got on the bandwagon. For the life of me I could never figure out why those guns when shot with Lil' Gun got so much hotter, so much quicker than when shot with any other powder under the bullet. Then the reports of excessive premature forcing cone erosion and top strap cutting started to appear and then Bob Baker of Freedom Arms made statements of excessive damage due to the use of Lil' Gun in their firearms. I still have some handgun ammo loaded with Lil' Gun...some needs to be pulled, some is slowly but surely gettin' shot up in handgun caliber carbines. I do not use Lil' Gun in any revolver anymore, nor do you read much in reloading forums about it's use in revolvers anymore.

...nuff said.

I have a lb of Littl Gun. Found it useful for a short time in my 410. Never crossed my mind to reload my 44 cartridge brass with it. I found Littl Gun not only to be a dirty powder but a hot burner one that burns the leading edges on its folding crimp flaps.

Would I choose Littl gun over H-110 or w-296. Not hardly. As a matter of fact I prefer H-110 over Littl Gun for my 410s use. Although having LittlGun handy. I wouldn't hesitate to use it if I didn't have H-110 on my reloading bench.
