Likely my last custom rifle.

Rifles were built nearly 30 years apart by the same smith. In the bottom photo at top is my 460 Jeffrey built on a Remington Model 30S action. Below is the new one, a Remington Model 30 in 300 H&H. The 460 has a 25" barrel while the 300 wears a 24" tube and a hood on the front sight. Otherwise they are nearly identical.

The 300 by itself...

Simply beautiful guns!

I'm still waiting for my first custom and being in my 60's, if I don't hurry, it may never happen!

Beautiful rifles!

Is the wood maple?

I just sold a custom 375 Impr. I had made up by a favorite smith back in the 60's. Those big ones kick kind of hard for my senior body.

Today I shot a new to me 257 Wby. and a 300 WM. Still too much frozen snow here on the ground. Nobody has walked past 100 yds yet at the range.

I believe it is maple. I recall the smith made a maple stock for the 460 and it broke during test firing so he used a light colored walnut instead. The smaller caliber should be OK with it.

Just Beautiful, Very nice workmanship. To bad we can't go around twice, just think of what a collection you would have
