at my local gun shop with box and manuals...

looks exactly like this...gp100.jpg...box and everything

Gun shop gives lifetime warranty on used guns...it breaks they fix it (have a full time gunsmith on site).

After looking around on the net, seems like a good deal...no ffl or shipping to add.

It can be mine tomorrow...just want some words of encouragement that this is a solid deal on a solid gun!

Thanks!

I would say that it is an excellent deal depending on the condition of the gun. Just make sure that it is what you want. The Ruger GP100 is an excellent gun that is very durable and capable of handling the heaviest 357Mag loads available. If you haven't shot standard 357Mag loads before, make sure you start off with 38spl otherwise you could induce some bad shooting habits like flinching, which causes severe accuracy problems. The 357Mag is loud and some loads have tremendous recoil. A good starter load for the 357Mag is Winchester's 110gr. JHP white box ammo. It is like a +p 9mm in power and doesn't generate too much recoil, especially out of a 6" barrel. Then you can move up to the hotter 125gr and 158gr stuff.

good advise above. The gps and their grips tend to moderate .357 recoil better than other like-weighted double actions. It would take much shooting to cause any problems with the revolvers and they seldom show up used in any other than mechanically like-new condition

I had an almost identical opportunity a few years ago and took it. My like new SS 6" GP100 cost me $350 out the door. ;)

Thats a good price. Thats about what I paid for mine.

Hey MEC I have one just like your's. I like it better than my old full lug one. Awsome gun ain't it :D

okay

Price is 'okay' for like new in box. don't be 'fooled' by the marketing of a life time warranty from the gun store... the gun itself comes with the same thing from Ruger... but the real point is unless you abuse it, it won't ever be needed either way.. Most important is spend your money locally if you can. the shop will make it more than worth your while in the long run.
