I'VE ALWAYS WANTED A COLT LIGHT WEIGHT COMMANDER IN STAINLESS STEEL. I DON'T THINK THEY MADE THEM FOR A LONG TIME. NOW I'ME SEEING BRAND NEW ONES FOR SALE AGAIN, JUST WHEN I THOUGHT I'DE HAVE TO SETTLE FOR A KIMBER. THEY SEEM COMPARABLY PRICED.
?QUESTION?
WHATS BETTER? THE KIMBER WITH THE FLARED BARREL AND NO BUSHING. OR THE COLT WITH THE BARREL BUSHING. WE ALL KNOW ABOUT ALL THE CUSTOM FEATURES ON THE KIMBERS SO DON'T LET THAT SWAY OPINIONS, WILL HAVE THE COLT TUNED UP IF THEIR BUSHING SYSTEM IS BETTER.

The choices in your poll dont make sense to me.

Bushingless is flared, isnt it?

Personally I like the bushing, keeps it as close as possible to a standard 1911.

Buy the Kimber. Don't worry about the bushing. That gun will shoot much better than you are capable of. Trust me :D I have a FS and a compact. Off hand the groups are the 'same'. You wouldn't be able to tell which gun shot which group. Also, you don't "settle for a Kimber", you step up to one. After you fire it, assuming you do buy it, you will be hooked. Please let go of the caps lock, after being on the 'puter all day it kinda hurts the eyes when an all caps post comes up.

I just bought a Colt's LW Commander SS XSE. It is a hell of a shooter. Go with the COLT. Actually I probably would prefer the bushingless barrel., but COLT dosen't make one so that wouldn't work. The bushing is a small price to pay for the original. I beleive the COLT will hold it's value better.

Besides "If it isn't a COLT it is just a copy!"
