Lightweight .357's

I have been shooting snubbie .357 Colt Lawman Mark III and V's for over 20 years. They work great, conceal well and are easy to shoot and practice with , with full-house loads. I'm curious. Why the facination with Titanium, Scandium, etc. snubbies? They add little to the total concept of practice with what you carry. It is easy to put in a 100 round practice session with the aforementioned Colts, neigh impossible to crank-off more than 30 with the ultra lites. I don't get it. I like to practice with what I carry. Am I missing something?

Concealment and convenience are high priorities to some folks, and a 12 oz. .357 fits pretty well instantly into a pocket holster with almost anything I wear. Also: I'm anticipating carrying Pro-loads in this gun (a recent aquisition), or maybe Golden Sabers. The practice session you describe would cost at least 60 bucks in ammo. I'll shoot standard .38 mostly, and carry ammo a little. If it weren't for pocket carry, i'd agree with you, it's too light.

If I'm gonna carry storebought ammo...
Gonna practice with same recoil and point of impact...
Easy to jiggle with loads to get the practice realistic.

If gun not comfortable to practice with carry ammo...
Not gonna carry that gun.
