light load(NOT lite beer)

Uh-oh, spaghetti-o's!

My CZ 75B 9mm full-size rarely "catches" ejected case: slide slams shut before ejected case clears. This has only happened twice...the first time, an experienced(WWII)armorer said..."You got a light load. It didn't have enough power to overcome the recoil spring adequately."

Sounds reasonable to me. BTW, I was firing Winchester 115g
9mm white box. I fired about 200 rounds this morning with this one hiccup

It seems like this could be caused by too loose grip. Try a stronger grip, keep the wrist stiff, relax the elbow, elbow slightly bent. That's the word of "god" (actually an old sergeant trying to teach me to shoot a 1911). If you can find a good shooting instructor in your area, have him evaluate your grip, stance, all the basics.

The white-box winchester is a "normal" load, no plusses or "P"s, but it should cycle the action on most guns.

Regards.

It could be either. The load may be borderline for your pistol and you will get an occasional factory bullet that is a little less than it's brothers in the box. It could also very well be that your grip relaxed a little on those particular shots. Hansolo's advice is a good way of taking any shooter error out of the equation. George

All of the above sound good.

However, I wouldn't carry a defense gun that was grip sensitive.

You can neither schedule nor script your next encounter.

CRSam, defense may not be a problem.

I wouldn't "carry" with the white-box winchester plinkers, I'd have some more robust hollow-points, with a "P" and a "Plus".

And, I don't think a "relaxed grip" would be a problem in a defense situation, just the opposite - white knuckled grip. :)

Regards.

First, thanks for suggestions RE: FTE!

This is my second CZ 75...the first was REALLY bad(FTF/FTE): after an attempt to fix, factory replaced "lemon". I was taught by a retired LEO. He showed me all about "limpwristing" and how to avoid it. I have rapid-fired 10 round magazines with no problem..just two times, the case ejected, but the frame closed too quickly and "caught" it. The pistol seems to "prefer" S&B ammo...I was experimenting with Winchester. I have also had bad luck with Blazer(aluminum case)on the first CZ. I guess the Czech pistol just prefers Czech ammo!

I keep Hydra-Shock for HD, BTW. Have practiced with it at range and it cycles great, if a little pricey!

Thanks again!

hansolo,

For cheap plinking, try the Wolf 9mm. It's certainly hotter than the white-box winchester stuff, and it's pretty accurate. I think it will cycle your pistol with mucho gusto!

The downside is that it burns dirtier than most. No big deal to me, I like cleaning the guns.

Regards.

So maby you are on the ground with a busted shoulder and blood slippery hand. You can barely grip and aim but you can still pull the trigger.......will the gun fire after the first shot ?

Many scenarios where far less than proper grip and stance have been used.
