License Reciprocal Agreements GA & SC

South Carolina appears to be the only state in the Southeast that does not have a reciprocal agreement with Georgia. Does anyone know why?

So, are you saying y’all don’t like the Georgia football team or the entire state? I often visit the low country and the folks down there are pretty nice I suspect the folks up around Clemson aren’t too bad either.;)

Hope to be down around Hilton Head soon any good gun shops I should check out?

South Carolina has a training requirement for the CWP, and they won't honor permits from states (GA, WA, PA, and VA IIRC) that do not.

Georgia also has a provision exempting members of the armed forces from the requirement to have a license, where South Carolina does not.

What States do have Reciprocal Agreements with SC?

I was kidding Barry,, we sandlappers don't hate our neighbors, it's not the southern way!...

People from clemson shouldn't be allowed to have guns.. The things they could do to animals at gunpoint would be illegal in ALL states!

I am a gamecock fan,, hence the name clemsonbloz..

bloz is a nice way to spell blows..lol

I think there is a way to register with Centre County PA,, and you can carry in a ton of states..

Yea, I knew you were just yanking my chain. I apologize for misinterpreting your screen name I know you guys are excited about the Gamecocks.

Just returned from a week at Hilton Head Island and man the weather was awesome. I basically carried on my person until I reached South Carolina and then placed the gun in the trunk of the car. Then I just left it in the house we rented all week. It felt strange not having it with me especially at night, but the area seems pretty safe.

This is the reason why a national carry permit will be next to impossible to get.

There are some states that believe it is not necessary to be tested for a permit and others that don't. Until there can be some kind of agreement to standards we will never se a national carry right.

Cops got the right but they are required to qualify every year.
