Anyone else have a Lew Horton SW 629-2 SS .44 magnum with 3" barrell? Great hiking gun.I bought this before Cor-Bon and Federal came out with their 300 gr. loads. Any opinions on the advisability of firing a few (15-20) rounds in the SW? I emailed SW and Lew Horton with this question. No response. What is this gun worth? Thanks!

It should be OK, they are both not +P rated. The only two commercial ammunitions NOT recommended for Smith & Wesson is Garrett and Buffalo Bore +P .44 Magnum ammunition.

My dealer is still selling these guns for about $550

Yelp Explore my mother has one! Yes, my dear old, gray haired, saintly mother. It is her regular carry piece and she definately knows how to use it. She dreams of the day that some poor, misguided would be car jacker tries to steal her full size Dodge 4X4. :D
Surpisingly we found the recoil to be relativley tame. In fact it seems to have less felt recoil than my 4" model 29's, persumably due to the excellent grip frame design and finger groove grips.

God I hope she doesn't read that part about the gray hair. :o
