I really want to get into SASS Wild Bunch shooting but I am have trouble find the long guns necessary.
The 1911s I have in spades. I have a back-order in for a Cimmaron Arms 1897 Pump gun and I am now looking for an nice lever gun. The problem is the rules state "Must meet SASS main match requirements and be 40 caliber or larger" I understand the caliber restriction is to restrict it to pistol calibers such as 44-40, 44 SPL, 45 Colt etc. But what does "Must meet SASS main match requirements" specify? I can't find any rifle specific requirements. I am worried aboout buying the wrong barrel length or whatever.
Also, as I am primarily a handgun guy, I am making some assumptions and we all know how those turn out. For example, I can shoot 44 SPL out of a 44 mag revolver. Is that the same with a 44 magnum lever gun? That sounded like a newbie question even to me.
And finally is the Rossi 92 worth a look? Or should I just spend a little more for something better. That question also sounded like a newbie one. I might have to kick my own a$$.
This is the one I am thinking of getting:
