lever action shot guns

Deja vu

So with a lever action shot gun like an 1887 or an 1901 is it true that if the magazine holds 5 rounds that the gun actually holds 7 rounds if its topped off?

So it hold the rounds in the tube +1 in the receiver and +1 in the chamber?

is this accurate? I have shot one many years ago and that seems right but I want to make sure I am correct.

That's my general understanding (some guns hold a "ready" shell below the bolt), but I'm not sure about the models in question.
