Need opinions on a Leupold VX2 6x18x40 w/ target turrets and fine duplex for informal target shooting out to 300 yrds. I'm also considering a Leupold FX III 12x40 fixed power scope. Please help!

I use two of the Leupolds with the target turrets & fine duplex for hunting.6X18X40 & 3.5 X10.Both are on 25-06 bolt actions used for deer, hog ,yotes they both have been great no problems at all.Ive had the 3.5x10 tac. for about 10 years & wish I had a couple more. The milldots really come in handy in the wind.Pretty good scope for the money.

If you dredge up a Leupold out in the garden, send it to the factory and they'll repair or replace it under warranty. I'm real brand loyal, all my scopes are Leupold. It's a local product.

I am with Xero all my centerfire rifles have Leupold scopes on them. I love the fine duplex I just bought with CDS knob it is a VX2 4-12 with AO also. It works great on my Savage 308 target rifle clear and dead on. I did not realize how good fine duplex was till I got this one. My others are std. I may get a couple changed to fine the deer rifles are ok way they are but varmint rifles would be better with the fine duplex. Great products would not use any thing else and have tried others and had them fail at wrong time fogging not enough light you get picture. Stick with Leupold American made. I even got one of there Redfield Revolution scopes on a 10/22.

We have three Leupolds and we're vey happy with them all.... even though I use different brand scopes, I loves me Leupolds..:)

I use Leupolds on all 9 of my centerfires, 22s, and 17s.

Most are VXII but I have 3 VXIIIs.

I have dropped 2 rifles out of a box deer stand and bounced them down the ladders. No change in zero. Had a friend that had one fall our of a truck at 30mph. .5 inch change in zero.

I don't think any other scope is better for the price and the expensive scopes like Swarovski are not enough better for the price you pay

I have quite a few Leupolds but do not like them on my deer hunting rifles. I've never had any real issues with any of them as far as holding zero or durability, I just don't feel that they are as bright (ie light gathering) as some others for the hunting conditions that I find where I am. It's not significant but in more than 1 instance that 5 minutes can mean the difference between a successful hunt and a busted hunt. I know they changed some coatings and claim to be better than ever so who knows, maybe I'll put one on a deer rifle in the future.

On my .17 I have a 4X12X40 VXII with the fine duplex and it is awesome. Love that little setup. I inherited a VXIII 3.5X10X50 with a #4 ret from my FIL, I put it on a CZ550 European in 6.5X55 Swede for my wife, she may not get to hunt with that gun much on morning hunts, wow what a set-up. There are others too and only one has ever been sent back for an issue which was promptly repaired and returned by the company.
