Leupold VX3L, any good?

hey guys,

Considering buying a VX3L scope,

has anyone uses these scopes with the "eclipse" in them?

as if they arnt worth the extra $$ im likely to buy a plain VX3

Just like to know peoples thoughts and experince with the VX3 and VX3L range.

I would think that a regular old VX3 would serve you well, they are my favorite Leupold. I don't like the funky looks of the modified objective. What is the exact power range you are looking at, and what will you be using the scope for? I'm not saying the VXL scope will not work well for the application, I just don't think it is going to offer much of an improvement.
