Leupold VX II 3-9.40 Scope and Butler Scope Cover question?

I got my scope mounted and bought some Butler Creek scope covers for it. I ordered the #25 for the objective, which fit perfect on there. I ordered the #14 for the eye piece, which should have been the right size according to the size chart. Well, it doesnt fit at all. It is to big and is not even close to the right size.

The question is, anyone that has the same scope size and have butler creek covers, which one works for the eye piece? Or, How much smaller should I go down in size to get the correct 1 to fit?

OK, I'll jump in here. What did you use to measure the scope with and what measurement did you come up with?

I just took the specs off the scope website. It says the eye piece diameter is 1.6 inches. I bought the #14 eyepiece cover. Im thinking about buyin the #11 eye piece cover and trying that one.

I don't suppose you have a pair of calipers do you? If it is 1.6" I am thinking you should have gone with the 15 instead of the 16. The 16 is 1.605 which is slightly larger than 1.600" where the 15 is 1.570" which is .030" smaller than 1.600". I always try to buy the closest size that is just under actual size of the ocular bell.

It looks like you have recieved the imformatim you were seeking. I just want to congratulate you on your new scope. Its the same scope i use, and I love it.

Well, I guess I was tired last night when I posted that. Meant to say should have went with the 13 instead of the 14. Had the measurements right, just the numbered sizes wrong. Sorry about that.
