Leupold scope issues

I bought a VX-1 4x12x40 and put it on a new NEF 308, for an out west antelope hunt, ended up with shotgun pattern at 100, and a new zero ever time I went to the range,
after numerous trips to the range I tossed the NEF and bought a savage 308,,,,,,,, Installed the Leupold on it,,,,, same end results, will not hold zero and annoyed operator,
I put a used bushnell 3x9 on it and VIOLA !! inch groups at 100 yards, while the scope isnt the clearest at distance its holding up very well, better than my great optics / wandering zero Leupold scope:mad: Leupold hasnt replied to my e-mails yet about it.

anyone else have issues with them?? I hear rumors of bad internal springs, bushing and elevators ect??

Every VX-I I've used has failed, in addition to that, the only 2 guys I know that have used them have also had them fail. I'm not a fan, and this post really doesn't surprise me at all.

That said, at least Leupold has a decent warranty and will fix it.

I got a reply from leupold today,, send it back, expect a 4 week turn around time,,,,, sounds like the VX-1 is something to avoid,,,

My scope returfned from factory service tonight, note inside sez scope was checked and found to be sound with no issues, but they removed, inspected and reinstalled all moving parts and checked lenses,, No issues,,, OK<<<
I looked the scope over and see that it has no longer friction adjustments, it now has 1/4 in Click adjustments :) Hmmmmmmmmm time will tell I got a couple boxs of reloads waiting for the weathr to break....
