Leupold illuminated scopes

I am looking for any experiences with the Leupold Vari X III LR Illuminated scopes, I have an M3 non illuminated and like it but did not know if there were any problems with the illuminated reticles, I see that everyone has them on sale for less than the non illuminated models so I thought there might be some problems.

I have a LR mildot I'm not too impressed with only the center mildot being illuminated,prob better off looking into a nightforce scope if you can swing the extra $.
 
I have the, Vari-X III, 4.5-14X50, Illum. AO, Fine Duplex, matte (#53660) and find the illuminated central cross-hair is very helpful in low light.
