? Leupold Dual Dovetail Bases on 700 LTR

I recently received a set of these for a Rem 700 LTR .308. Ordered from Natchez. After installing, I noticed the rear base hangs over the receiver port about 1/4 inch. Rifle seems to function fine...rounds are ejected without hitting the base, and I have no problem loading the rifle.

Are these supposed to fit this way, or did they send me the bases for a long action Rem.? Will this base cause any problems down the road? Thanks.
 
The two-piece bases fit both the long and short actions. You might have a reversible rear base; if so, see if it fits in a reversed configuration. I have several mounts that overhang the ejection port, as you describe, but have not problems as a result.
 
I have Leupold Dual Dovetail rings and bases on two model 700's and both are like protrude over the edge slightly. Both work fine.
