So, I'm intrigued by this... with one of the '10' provided mounting plates, does that mean I'd have to pop out my existing rear sight on my Sig P226 or my 1911 to be able to mount this thing? Both of those guns for me have tritium night sights, so the idea of popping them out (unless they were real easy to put back in) is not appealing to me... I suppose I'm hoping there's some miracle to this setup that I'm just not seeing. I can't find any documentation online, not even a decent review.

The Delta Point just came out, so there probably aren't many reviews. There have been similar sights on the market for years though: Trijicon RMR (2 versions), Burris Fastfire, Doctor Optic, C-More STS, J-Point. Some these are overly complicated or have to turned on and off, neither of which us good on a defensive handgun.

I have a J-Point on one of my Glock 19's: http://thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=413268

You are correct on the mounting, unless you have someone mill the slide for a separate mount. I'm not sure the Sig or 1911 has enough material for that.

Thanks. I figured as much. I have a FastFireII on my 22 Buckmark, but that happened to have an integrated picatinny rail. Neither my Sig nor my 1911 have top rails.

So, is it fairly "semi permanent" to pop out the sight posts and put in this mount? Semi as in not something you'd want to do repeatedly without risking weakening the tension of the slot?

The slot in the slide should be much harder than the sight, so I doubt it wll damage the slot.

It wouldn't be a quick swap, and re-zeroing would be required with each change back and forth.
