Letter to Florida Lottery Commission

Mr. Robert Jenkins
Executive Director
The Florida Lottery Board

Dear Mr. Jenkins,

On November 14th I purchased a ticket for the Florida Lottery. The ticket contained the numbers 1 through 9 printed in a row, with the directions "Pick Three Numbers". At the time, I was extremely distraught as the directions seemed extremely unclear and confusing. The lights in the 7-11 were very bright and distracting, and the cashier, Mohammad, seemed busy so I did not ask for assistance. In my terribly confused state I circled the numbers 1, 3, 5 and 7 and, saying nothing to anyone, turned in the ticket.

Last night when the winning numbers 2, 4 and 8 were announced, I was stunned and heartbroken. Those were the numbers I had picked in my heart, and which I was denied from playing by your confusing and misleading ticket. I believe I was disenfranchised, that I am due my share of the 150 million dollar prize, and that a delegation of my closest friends and family should have the opportunity to examine my ticket and determine what numbers I REALLY meant to play.

If my demands are not met I will immediately file a lawsuit and see you in court.

Sincerely,

Harvey Dorchester
