Letter from my Congressman

It does pay to write your Congresscritter. After several letters to my U.S. Congressman, Cliff Stearns I received the following response.

Dear Mr. King

Thank you for contacting my office regarding gun contol legislation. I appreciate your views and welcome the opportunity to respond.

I believe that legislation which requires gun registration and provides for undue regulatoty burdens on honest, law abiding gun owners is not common sense. By focusing on gun contol laws we miss the larger picture of this rampant violence. Until we focus on the underlying cause of these horrific acts, no band-aid gun contol law will prevent another occurence

Agressive enforcement and prosecution of firearms violations is the reliable solution. I offered an amendment to that effect on the House floor which passed overwhelmingly. Please be assured that I will continue to stand for our second amendment right and will oppose and legislation which undermines that right. Thank you once again for your comments. With kind regards, I am,

sincerely, Cliff Stearns, United States Represenative

So keep writing your congressman, it's nice to know that they are being read.

Now that I've received a response, I'll probably write more often to voice my views on Article II rights and other subjects such our tax burden.

"If 10 per-cent is good enough got God it's good enough for the IRS!"

That's the GOP form letter on the RKBA. Several of us have multiple copies.

Send your rep a specific suggestion and see if you get back a response to that suggestion. Bet you get the form again.

I have received the same letter from my Senator no matter what I write to him. So long as the letter is pro-gun, I get stock reply #4 every time. After ten years, I am getting tired of it. I am afraid to write and complain, as I will probably get "The Letter" again.
