As said in my last post I am thinking about adding a .44 to my collection and I was looking towards S&W. I realy liked the looks of the PC v-comp but I have been reading some bad things about them. So this leaves me with a delema. I have no Idea what to get. the one thing I realy liked about the PC was that you have the choice between compensated or not. So to give me ideas, or just to show off lets see those .44's

629 Classic

Here is my 629 Classic with 6.5" barrel with Leupold 2X EER scope on Millett mount and Leupold rings. The 6 shot groups shown were fired off a solid benchrest at 25yds. The left group was a Sierra 220 grain FPJ and the right is a 240 Hornady XTP load.

Here is mine, shot with factory 240gr Fiocchi. The gun (as you ca tell) is a 629 Classic with the 6.5" ported barrel and 2x Leupold. I had tried a Burris base/ring set, but recently changed over to the dual-dovetail Leupold set.

Greetings,
Here is a pic of my S&W 629 done by Victor Tibbets. http://www.classichandguns.com/

The order was for:
1. Perform Duty Action trigger modification and install spring kit.
2. Chamfer chamber mouths.
3. Re-cut forcing cone.
4. Completely De-horn for carry, (a heavier “meld” is to my liking).
5. Install Ashley Tritium Big Dot front sight, and Ashley blade with white line rear sight.
6. Check, and adjust if necessary, the timing and cylinder gap/endshake.
7. Recut the barrel crown (a deep recess and highly polished finish is my preference here).
8. Refinish with NP3.

The gun is great and Vic was a pleasure to work with.

To prove 629 Shooter doesn't have a fluke, here is my 629 Classic, with groups fired with the open sights - no doubt a scope or a better shooter:) would make one hole groups as well.
