poll. I don't like this poll, but the gallup site is publishing it, so who knows. This one has moved more than any other.

Other polls mostly show Bush with lead of 4-5% MSNBC/Rueters shows it tied. Zogby shows Bush with 1 point lead and is fluctuating between tied and Bush ahead.

Some summaries:

let's keep working. My understanding is the Dems are REALLY REALLY worried about gun owners. Bush is pressing hard in traditional dem area of Minnisota and Wiscon. In fact Bush is ahead there.

Let's send them a message by winning big!!!

ps. NAACP is spending record $$ and time in voter registration and Get-Out-The-Vote (GOTV) efforts. That should worry us in Florida, TN, Ark where Bush is tied or leading.

Gore's people are going to try some sort of trick move. They're already doing the "elderscare" ads, so that can't be it. Methinks that a few days before the election, the Administration will find the guys behind the bombing of the USS Cole and launch some cruise missiles. Algore will be summoned to Washington to help "take charge" of this important international develpment. It's the most plausible October surprise I can think of. Here's $10 that says it happens.

Regardless of how far ahead or behind Bush is, everyone here needs to vote. At the local level, I'm going to be more careful and vote for the most pro-gun candidate. I'm sick and tired of this crap we gun owners have had to put up with.

Monkeyleg, keep your $10, I wouldn't be surprised at all if we bombed the hell out of somebody, maybe took out some more pharmacutical factories in the third-world somewhere.

StephenT:

I whole heartly agree with you. I'm tired of the stuff we have to endure. It is time to send another message.

Long way to go. Gore is in all out attack mode and Clinton is trying to get back into it.

WashingtonPost poll shows Gore closing a little. Tonight the POA poll will be out and we will see more. The fact that Ill. is now in play, as is Washington is bad for Gore.

Hope the Cubans vote in FL.

For an interesting take on the polls, go to
http://www.realclearpolitics.com

They are running a composite of 4 polls and currently Bush is 4.5 points ahead. They also have a very intesting set of predictions on how the Electorial votes are going to fall. I don't think that things are quite as good as they predict but I'm certainly hoping. Check them out and see what you think

It doesn't matter if Bush is up by 99%, please make sure to vote. Just remember the tale of the tortoise and the hare.
